Designed to be more resistant to breaking and when broken, to fracture into small, less harmful pieces of glass. Required by building code in doors, near doors, in shower and tub enclosures, stairwells, near swimming pools and various other locations. Your Window World® representative will notify you of any requirements.
Formed by permanently fusing an interlayer between two pieces of glass, laminated glass is sometimes a desired alternative to tempered glass. Unlike tempered glass, when broken, laminated glass remains in the frame, protecting the building contents and the building envelope. In addition to safety and security, it also helps reduce sound transmission.
